Forget currys visit the old forum records and there was a thread about this. I believe that the dash is only a push fit and can be carefully removed to access the bulbs. But check on old forum first.

I looked on the old site for some info on changing one of my instrument a
panel lights, but obviously didn't search for the right word(s). I know there is something there about the instument panel illumination, but goodness knows where.

Any help would be appreciated as one of my panel lights seems to have blown and I have a dark area in the middle of the right hand screen. I'm sure it's just a bulb that has blown.

Zbungle,

I had the same problem on mine, but managed to get Dutton Forshaws @ Preston to do it at no charge, but wouldn't normally be covered by warranty.

I asked after afterwards if it was easy to fit and they said that the facia just unclips. they said they would show me if it happend again, but it hasn't....yet.

Hey All,

Newbie here :) Many people find this very, very hard to believe, but i am the OWNER of a Xsara Picasso at the age of 17 :)

As for the car, details below. Back to the dash light changes, I had the far left bulb go on me, and i could barely see the mileage, fuel etc... and fortunately, I bought myself a 'car warming' gift of a Citroen Xsara Picasso Haynes manual ;) It tells you (with pics) in there how to change a bulb on the instrument panel! If i can do it, anyone can :)

just done mine. its very easy

1. prise surround off by using a screwdriver at both sides
2. undo torx screw at both sides of the display
3. pull display out. will be stiff as it is held in by 2 plastic dowels
4.there is ample wire to pull it out and no need to pull plug out
turn ignition on and you will be able to see which needs replacing by looking at the rear of the bulb holders.
use tweezers or pointed nosed pliers to turn holder anticlockwise and pull out.
took me 10 minutes to do

A word of warning:

Do not disconnect the plugs without first disconnecting the battery.

Under no circumstances turn on the ignition with the display unplugged. (No point really, but DON'T DO IT!)

First time I've seen that one mentioned. Thought that I'd read of many people disconnecting the plug with the battery still connected, but obviuosly the ignition off.

I will do mine one day. I've been saying that for over 6 months. No one has mentioned the climate control display also being very dim. Both my dashboard display and the C.C display are nearly impossible to read.
Never heard anyone say how they got into the C.C display to change bulb/s there.
