Am I still the only person without a lock on their spare?

Surprising that I still have one bearing in mind my car is left in a Liverpool carpark all day.

Mind you, I haven't gone down and checked the underneath recently

Is it possible to wire the spare up so that it's electrified and anyone tampering gets a shock??

Or is that illegal?

Funny though

Dad, you silly old bugger. ;) If you had read the article properly you would have seen that the old bill had caught the bloke responsible for all the thefts of wheels from our pics. No more worries. Take your locks off guys and gals and be prepared to receive your wheels back through the post. <_<

I thought that the spare wheels that were being nicked were going to some use - it has been suggested by other members that they end up on taxis.

However, in the corner of one of the carparks near where I work, TWO wheels have been discarded. I noticed these the week before last and couldn't understand why they were still there as the tyres and rims are brand new (green paint line around circumference). I've just popped out of work this morning to investigate and the brand new tyres have been holed in several places on the sidewall.

Obviously, spare wheel theft is just a "laugh" to some people  .

I wonder if these pranksters would be laughing if a car owner caught hold of one of them while they were nicking a wheel?

Top idea. Wonder if I could re-create one whilst saving for the lock to deter the little beggers? Anyone got a photo of the sticker?

Try this....(created in Word from image on Osprey products web site)

The font should be more like Arial

Sticker size is about 1" square (25mm for the metricated!)

Ahem... just "borrowed" the works colour laser and the glossy labels we use for the personalised wines and created the sticker... hopefully will deter the casual blagger from looking under the car.

We had the metal lock fitted by Citroen (FOC), and the damned bolt was cross threaded when it was fitted making it nigh on impossible to release the spare, and totally impossible to refit the bolt after the spare had been replaced.

Having just returned to my 4 month old Picasso, to find the spare wheel, jack etc stolen.
I just wanted to know why?..... Is there a demand of Picasso wheels?, (other than owners who have just had them stolen!) can they be used on other cars. Is there an international black market.

Any way, off to my dealer to purchase new wheel, then Halfords for a bike chain.

It's a ploy by CUK to make money. They go around at night picking on unsuspecting Pic owners, then sell the very same wheel and jack beck to you the following day

Joking aside, they seem to do some very nice business out of not resolving this problem
