Realised after two failed attempts to fill up :)

However reading on receipt .33 Litres less than a pint slightly over half a pint entered tank done 50 miles since with about 25 litres of diesel in the tank before mishap.

Less than 7.5% mix research suggests engine should be ok

Running tank to minimum before refill all seems fine will update after refill.

Surely it would be better to fill the tank now and dilute the mix.

Second that, thin the petrol out even further

Lancelot Granpa my opinion get it through the system as soon as possible instead of extending the contamination period. If it's not spluttering things are fine no point filling tank and it then starts spluttering more fuel to drain off to fix. Fill when empty and restore full diesel lubricating properties instead of an extended diluted mix.

The biggest problem could be the seizure of the fuel pump by lack of lubrication me thinks. With a full tank, the delation % would be minimal.

Providing it doesn't rain just leave the cap off for a few hours the petrol will evaporate the diesel wont, might be an idea to put an old sock over the opening loosely just to prevent leaves getting in the tank.

That small amount will have no effect. As it has already run a good few miles without problems, personally I would fill the tank (with the correct stuff )

It mixes with the diesel so will not evaporate, no cap on newer models just a flap with seal and anti-siphon seal.

Run down to 4 litres (unleaded diesel mix) filled with 56 litres of diesel no problems
