This is merely an irritation, but I get a squeak from the clutch pedal every time I depress it. After a quick Google I feared the worst, but it does seem to be the kind of squeak that can be cured by a drop of oil rather than something more serious. The only problem is, how on earth do I get at the pivot point or spring (what ever it is), as it seems to be further up into the dashboard that I can reach. It seems silly to have to take it to a garage for them to dismantle all the panels, so can I just turn the stereo up instead?

Move seat right back. Place a large board on floor/sill. Lay on board on your back. Shine torch or phone light up into pedal area. Use a silicone spray can with nozzle tube. Wear eye protection.
