Would I be correct in assuming this clean blue version of the 1.6 diesel has been de-tuned to help its clean classification on emissions, I live in a very hilly area on the Pennines and the main gears in use are 3 & 4 on the 5 speed box it is rare to be able to use top  and having to do so much downchanging is something Im not used to, being in the mid gear section is not having any detrimental effect on fuel consumption so I wonder if that was Citroens plan to stop the engine labouring on gradients yet still give good returns and super-low emissions

Maybe the gear ratios have been changed in the gearbox to get the engine to run at lower revs. . . so struggling on the hills?
