18 months ago I changed the dipped beam bulbs to Phillips X-tremeVision.

I found the original dipped beam quite poor although the full beams were fine. They all use the same H7 bulbs so it must be more of the design of the reflector then the bulbs themselves.

However, I decided to give the Phillips a go, the light pattern has been much improved and is brighter without any problems of affecting other road users. I had concerns over reports of them not lasting long but mine are doing just fine so far. They were easy to change from under the bonnet without needing to remove any panels or obstructions, it is important not to handle the glass parts and I expect this might account for other users to experience failures.

Certainly an easy and worthwhile upgrade.

Thanks for your review- so I decided to follow your footsteps!

But during the process I noticed a huge variation in feedback for these lamps. And it would appear there are large numbers of fakes to be had.

Finally got a pair from EPC- here is the link which includes the varied reviews. Note that the reviews on this page are not only from EPC buyers- rather product reviews from various sellers.

I got the Ring equivalent for my xpic, still working well until my lad wrote the car off, ps cant say the difference was all that better apart from slight blue tinge to the beam

Now I'm really confused! Reading through the owners handbook for pointers on fitting these H7 light bulbs (which i now gather is a pig of a job) I noticed that an H1 bulb is spec'd for the main beam. Straighten me out please.

Site I've looked at says the H7 is the low [dip] beam and H1 is the main, regarding fitting not the foggiest

Mine is the 2016 model (current shape), I'm sure the headlight design changed from earlier models.

H1 main beam, H7 dipped beam. Although they look the same you can not put
H7 in a H1 position and vice versa. The car wiring is dufferent. See below. httpsww.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://my350z.com/f...G2uyLE9RTIQSJZ3
