Booked my car in for it's first service, for 6 Feb 2019

The dealer told me there is a TSB to check the condition and possibly replace the water pump drive belt. this is a seperate belt to drive the waterpump not the Aux belt or the Cam belt

My car was built 9 Jan 2018 (registered 7 Feb 2018)...don't know which other cars this involves.

Is the 1.2 puretech coming up to expectations ? mulling over either this or the 1.6 blue HDI if I change cars later

For me the 1.2 litre 3 cylinder puretech engine is great. Mine is a 110 BHP driving a C3 MK3 hatch through the EAT6 full auto box. This a torque converter box, not a EGS. The acceleration and ability of this engine is excellent. It returns on average 40 mpg in local driving condition but I have had 56 mpg on a long journey at motorway speeds. It thrives on high speed.
The mpg is verified by my own calculated figures on full ups
The only problem I have had so far was a sticking handbrake switch last year and water in the rear light assembly. Both changed under warranty.

These 3 cylinder petrol engines are certainly catching on, the 1.6 blue diesels return some excellent figures and meet all the latest Euro 6 requirements but how long before a new limit is introduced and put them out of favour again

The latest diesels are Euro 6.2.

I love the 1.2 Puretec with EAT6 Gearbox, it pulls well (not quite as good as the HDi) and is definitely less economical, but that does not bother me.

I wonder what the latest EAT8 box is like? Could it have too many gears and be constantly changing up and down?

To be honest I got rid of the HDi because of the the unfounded scaremongering in the press and the thought that if I wait to trade in the HDi's may lose their value, also I wasn't really doing the mileage to justify having diesel

I've had mine over 2 years now. No problems so far and I'm very pleased. You won't get the fuel consumption given in the brochure, I get between 45 and 52 mpg, (better in summer and on a long run).

I'm not aware of the belt recall. I have the 6 speed manual and the box is notchy and doesn't like being rushed but I've got used to it now so it's not a problem.

Re diesel v petrol economy remember petrol is cheaper, doesn't require Adblue and won't clog up a DPF. The engine oil remains clean all year, unlike the Berlingo 1.6 diesel I used to have.

It isn't a Recall it's a Technical Service Bulletin which you will probably only be made aware of at your next service.

Sorry don't know why this got posted twice
