Hello all, I am hoping to get some help identifying an engine noise that has appeared over the last month.

Above is a video with the noise, it is coming from the drive belt side of the engine and near the back. I have had the main crank pulley replaced recently to rectify another issue but alas it didn't solve this one. And now I'm noticing a change/roughness in the engine idle too.

I recon it's an idler or tensioner but could be wrong. The MOT is due in November and if she needs work then might as well ask my mechanic to have a look but a bit of research before may help in the long run, or allow me to fix the issue myself.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Fact is that you could guess again and again. My guess is cam belt/pulleys.

The only way to be sure is pull it apart. And have a Gates cam belt/pulley kit/water pump to hand- around the 100 squid mark.
