First time ive wanted to use them, but had to leave the car on an unlit road for a few minutes last night so thought id leave the sidelights on . . turned the stalk to sidelights then turned the ignition off. . . nothing. How do I put the sidelights on when leaving the car? (praps im missing something obvious)

I think you need to switch side lights on after turning engine off and removing the key.

with most cars you leave the indicator stalk on before switching off , depending on what side

the lights are needed.

Ok this may work for you. My car is a C3 saloon. After switching off ignition select indicator for the side you want lit. The indicator arrow in the dash flashes on that side and a ding is heard. The side lights on that side comes on.
