Hi my car has developed a problem, as soon as you start it it comes up saying STOP engine to hot and bleeps away sometimes never ending. Now I know this is a fault of some sort as car may not have run for the whole weekend so there is no way it can be too hot straight from starting the engine. Has anyone else had this issue and is it a simple fix or does it need to go into a garage

Thanks

Probably the coolant temperature Sensor.  Not sure where it is in a C3, you don't say which engine it is....

It's got a green sheath over the plug, and  shouldn't be too expensive/hard to do.

Does the fan run at the same time ?      Some models had 2 sensors, one for the gauge, and one for the ECU...   just had a Google  :)

Bought a new sensor went to fit it stripped away as much as I could but the area were I assume it is located has a large wiring loom covering it in a plastic ducting and it will not budge :(
