Hi all I have investigated hissing noise in cabin when aircon is on, after regas with dye I felt it not that cold and like gas is escaping from the cabin and passenger side and 2nd row not getting any cool air at all, using an ultra violet light looking at the condenser found a leak on the connector (left hand side where the pipe joins the condenser) looks like it wasn't tight enough, whilst aircon running I could actually see bubbles.

Has anyone had this before? what is it? could it be just a damaged seal? if so will I be able to replace it (part number needed) without loosing the gas. someone had mention to me is common problem with expansion valve, what is it? where is it located?

All you inputs are much appreciated

Thanks

If the pipe is refrigerant pipe then of you undo.it you will loose the gas. Legally you should have the gas recovered by an Aircon specialist and not vent it to atmosphere. Some of the pipes on Aircon systems are the type with a belled end. You could try nipping up the union never know it might seal.

Thanks for the input, as I said there is no gas left as aircon now died completely, I have tried to get my hands through there but got stuck when I did undo the plastic cover in the engine bay couldn't undo the other bit under it, looks like is one piece all together (daylight, badge and front end)

any ideas how to undo it?

I didn't see the picture on my mobile. That grill should be removable, usuallu held on by clips or press studs but where they are located I dont know. Sorry.
