Problem we had was age related down to minor deterioration of the laminate worktop surface in the kitchen, numerous sites have you mixing potions to remove food residue but actual stickiness on the surface is another thing these cleaners will not shift. in our case it was not down to food residue as it was not in a food prep area, running your hand along the worktop the stickiness was alarming, after several attempts with a variety of home made and bought products the cure was eventually found by applying several layers of silicon car polish which dries like a shell, I used Turtlewax, allowing each to dry to a powder before buffing up, now its as slippy, slidy & smooth as the rest, well pleased, saved me a fortune replacing them
