The XPIC comes with "H" rated tyres. Can anyone tell me if fitting good quality "T" rated tyres would invalidate my insurance (Saga).

Reason for question is that these blasted Michelins have started to break up again and local tyre depot can't get cheap/decent tyres for tomorrow. They have good quality "T" rated ones in stock.

Hi the tyre company cannot legally as far as im aware fit tyres that are a lower rating than original..

H rating is max 130mph and T is max 118mph.

Now although its unlikely you will be doing over 118mph it is still a tyre that is not capable of holding together at the vehicles max speed so insurance should you have an accident and they spot it would be void...

SAGA have agreed to my fitting T rated tyres and are to confirm this in writing. Their supervisor said that they didn't mind 1 reduction in speed rating but would not insure if tyre size were altered.
